Stair-Assist Mobility Device for Independent Seniors
Needs Assessment - Design - Prototyping - Pitch
This award-winning design came to fruition after conducting needs assessments via several home visits to elderly patients who received house call medical care through a program our client was a part of at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Hospital. What started out as a project to help the elderly answer their doors ended up as a design that targeted the discovered latent need, getting up and down household stairs in a safe and efficient manner.
